Graduate IT Support & Digital Solutions Analyst

Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy & Environment, and Energy & Planning.

As part of our continued investment in digital tools, IT systems, and automation, we are seeking a Graduate IT Support & Digital Solutions Analyst to join our Cork office.

This is an exciting graduate opportunity for someone with an interest in IT support, digital tools, automation, and AI.

The role combines hands‑on day‑to‑day IT support with opportunities to assist in digital solutions, automation initiatives, AI tools, and knowledge sharing across the business. You will work closely with the Digital Solutions & IT Manager, gaining real‑world experience in a professional services environment.

This role offers an excellent foundation for a long‑term career in IT and digital transformation.

FT's Responsibilities

What would my main responsibilities be in this role?

Digital Solutions, Automation & AI

  • Assist with simple automation tasks using Python or other approved scripting tools
  • Support the testing and day‑to‑day use of approved AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot)
  • Help document digital solutions, automation scripts, and workflows
  • Support the responsible and secure use of AI tools in line with company policies and data protection requirements

Knowledge Sharing & Presentations

  • Help prepare and deliver short presentations, demos, or walkthroughs on:
    – IT systems and processes
    – Microsoft 365 tools
    – Approved digital and AI tools
  • Assist with IT induction material, refresher sessions, and lunchtime knowledge‑sharing talks
  • Convert common IT queries into simple guidance materials such as slides, quick guides, FAQs, or demos
  • Work with the Digital Solutions & IT Manager to ensure materials are clear, user‑friendly, and compliant

IT Support & Operations

  • Provide first‑line IT support for day‑to‑day user queries
  • Set up and prepare laptops and IT equipment for new starters and planned replacement cycles
  • Support onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
  • Assist with password resets, MFA queries, and access requests
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Maintain IT asset records and basic documentation, escalating issues where required

Software & Licence Support

  • Install approved software on company devices
  • Assist with tracking software licences and managing user access

Learning & Development

  • Learn the IT systems, digital tools, and platforms used across Fehily Timoney
  • Build confidence presenting technical information to small groups with guidance
  • Contribute to improving IT processes and documentation
  • Gradually take on additional responsibility as skills and experience develop

Skills / Qualifications

Am I the right person for the role?

Essential:

  • Degree (or near completion) in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Basic programming knowledge (Python preferred)
  • Strong interest in IT, digital tools, automation, and AI
  • Good communication skills and willingness to support colleagues

Desirable:

  • Placement, internship, or part‑time experience in an IT or technical role
  • Exposure to Power Automate, Power Platform, PowerShell, or GitHub
  • Interest or experience in presenting or peer knowledge sharing
