FT is looking to recruit a Resident Engineer, based in North County Dublin, for a project specific contract with an expected duration of approximately 24 weeks. Anticipated project start date is July/Aug 2018. The candidate would ideally have experience in civil engineering and would have the following attributes: –

 

Skills/Qualifications & Key Responsibilities

 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with suitable relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Resident Engineer on civil construction projects ideally having roads and utilities experience
  • The Engineer will have a minimum of 5-7 years experience.
  • Familiar with Public Works Contracts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good report writing, analytical & computer skills.
  • Work in compliance with essential regulatory & contractual obligations.
  • Supervision of contractors’ works and ensure that material specifications, workmanship, quality control and health and safety aspects for all works are in compliance with the contract requirements and regulations.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance.
  • Inspection of drawings, documents and reports, on-site safety, security and general housekeeping.
  • Full clean drivers licence.

FT is seeking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer (Drainage) to join our team in either our Cork or Dublin Office. The role will suit candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

 

The successful candidate will join an established company and will have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of skills and experiences with support from mentors across several disciplines.

 

Skills/Qualifications & Key Responsibilities

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree.
  • 5-10 years post-graduate experience. Chartered Engineer status preferred.
  • Lead the design of drainage systems for highways, wind and solar farms, urban developments and other infrastructure projects.
  • Complete the hydrological and flood risk assessment for various sites.
  • Working knowledge of software such as Micro Drainage and/or Autodesk storm and sanitary.
  • Act as a member of the design team, helping to ensure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client.
  • Planning and managing CAD documentation of design work, working closely with Engineering Technicians.
  • Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team.
  • Candidate should be a high-energy professional with Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills.

Candidates will be required to have a well-rounded knowledge of highway engineering and be familiar with the codes and standards used in Ireland and the U.K.

 

The successful candidate will join an established company and will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, delivered under a number of procurement models. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead and grow the highways department.
