Fehily Timoney & Company is a multi-disciplined Environmental, Engineering and Scientific Consultancy with offices in Dublin and Cork providing planning and development advice to a wide range of clients in the urban development, energy, housing and waste sectors. We are now seeking to employ a Project Town Planner to join the expanding planning team in our Cork office, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years post qualification relevant experience.

The post will involve working on a wide range of instructions including planning applications, masterplans, appeals, planning appraisals, and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports.

Applicants must hold a recognised (IPI or RTPI) planning qualification. Good communication and report writing skills and a sound knowledge of planning policy and practice in Ireland are essential.

Key requirements are:

  • Experience of providing advice on planning matters;
  • Excellent working knowledge of planning, development and environmental issues;
  • Ability to prepare reports and formulate recommendations;
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and other professionals as part of design teams, in multi-disciplinary services.

A progressive organisation, we run many and varied projects in Ireland, Europe and the Middle East, up to 150 in number at any one time.  The company requires a Financial Controller to manage and run the finance function, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).  This role is based in our Cork Office.

Main Duties:

  • Work closely with the COO to drive the profitability of the business.
  • Completion and review of Quarterly management accounts.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and ongoing re-forecasts.
  • Preparation and management of cashflow forecasting.
  • Completion and review of the monthly management pack including performance variance analysis against budget/forecast.
  • Presentation of financial report at Board meetings.
  • Take responsibility for the accuracy of all financial reporting from the project management system including supporting/advising technical staff on the financial management of their projects.
  • Identify and implement new systems, processes and controls improvements as and when appropriate.
  • Liaise with external auditors to manage completion of annual audit to set deadline.
  • Manage relationship with third parties such as finance providers, insurers, pension trustees, IT support, etc.
  • Reconciling the reporting across multiple reporting tools.
  • Analyse monthly operating expenses by cost centre and liaise with department stakeholders.
  • Collecting, analysing, comparing and interpreting data and providing trends and forecasts.
  • Support on cross functional projects and ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience.
  • High level of competency with MS Excel. Office 365 an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills required along with strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to take ownership for your work and work independently.
  • Will need to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in reporting, analysing & manipulating data.

FT is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer/Hydrologist with an extensive background in hydrology projects to join our team in either our Cork or Dublin office.

Skills/Qualifications & Key Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be required to have:

 

  • Degree qualified Civil/Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience (or post-graduate studies).
  • A working knowledge of Microdrainage software.
  • A good working knowledge of packages for 1D hydraulic modelling (e.g. HECRAS).
  • Design of SuDS drainage systems, hydraulic modelling, attenuation design across a wide range of infrastructure projects.
  • The ability to manage several priorities at once will be required as will a high level of commitment to success.
  • The following would also be an advantage:-
  • Experience in planning/EIS desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in the areas of flood risk assessment, flood damage assessment, flood relief design and cost benefit analysis.
  • Working knowledge of 2D hydraulic modelling such as Tuflow, Mike 11, Mike 21 or Flood Modeller.
  • Working knowledge of Culvert Master software.
  • Preparation of tender documents, tender assessments and contract administration.
  • Site experience in the area of hydrology and drainage.
