• Provide on-site technical assistance.

• Inspection of drawings, documents and reports, on-site safety, security and general housekeeping.

• Full clean drivers licence.

The company is seeking to recruit a Project Ecologist to join its Ecology team in the Cork office and meet the increasing demand for the company’s services. The successful candidate will be working on projects in the wind energy, solar, waste, road and built infrastructure sectors and it is essential that prospective candidates have relevant and recent experience in these sectors.  The role will suit candidates with a minimum of three years’ post-graduate ecological experience, ideally in a consultancy environment.

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:

• Level 8 degree in ecology, environmental science or a related discipline

• Field skills in ornithology with previous experience of conducting surveys for renewable energy projects

• Ecological field skills, highlighting any specialist ecological expertise (either academic or interest)

• In-depth knowledge of a broad range of environmental issues, fundamental to the preparation of high-quality, ecological impact assessments

• Preparing reports such as Environmental Impact Statements or Appropriate Assessments

• Working as part of a high functioning team

• Well organised with excellent attention to detail while also being able to manage their own workload

• Ability to manage several priorities at once will be required as will a high level of commitment to success

 

The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:

• Undertaking background research, desk studies and ecological fieldwork and impact assessment reporting, to best-practice guidelines and methodologies

• Preparing and compiling ecological assessments

• Undertaking ecological assessments and surveys, from inception to completion

• Liaising with client representatives and project managers to progress projects effectively

• Finding solutions to ecological challenges on projects

• Engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders in ecological projects

• Delivering high quality outputs within set deadlines

• Reporting (prepare and/or compile information for Environmental Impact Statements and Appropriate Assessments)

  • Preparation and presentation of drawings and design outputs, using information provided by the Engineering/Design team.
  • Development of highly detailed Revit Models and generation of construction drawings from Revit Structures software.
  • Knowledge of CADS RC, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and RC detailing/scheduling is important
  • Continually using own initiative and knowledge to support and grow the CAD team and use of technical programs.
  • Work independently without needing significant help form others, and provide guidance and support to other members of the CAD team.
  • Anticipates and understands all drafting aspects and requirements for large scale engineering projects.
  • Assume ownership of work, and work with project managers to ensure timely delivery within budgetary constraints.
