Senior Engineer

Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.

FT is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer who will work as an integral member of the Energy and Planning team in the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office, aiding the expansion of the Energy and Planning business and working closely with fellow professionals.  This position offers exposure to a broad range of areas within the Energy and Planning sector including, but not limited to, project management, environmental assessment and preliminary design for renewable energy projects.

FT's Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client
  • Planning and managing CAD documentation of design work, working closely with Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians
  • Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals
  • Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation
  • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7 years post-graduate experience
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience in Project Managing the preliminary civil design of renewable energy projects is desirable but not mandatory
  • Candidate should be a high-energy professional
  • Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills required
  • Experience of engaging with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractors
  • Flexible and a good team player
  • Works efficiently and on own initiative
  • Full drivers licence
