John Nolan is a Technical Director of Sustainable Infrastructure at FT and has twenty-seven years postgraduate experience in civil engineering. John’s focus is on Major Civils projects within the company. He holds a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering (NUI, Galway) and also has a Masters degree in Highway Engineering (NUI, Galway). He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of Engineers Ireland, a Registered Consulting Engineer (FConsEI) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.

John has particular experience in the project management of major infrastructure projects particularly in the transportation and renewable energy sectors. He is very experienced in managing all aspects of these projects including preparation of pre-qualification and tender documentation; management of the design teams; programming; budgetary control; consultation with project stakeholders; chairing meetings; fulfilling the role of Employers Representative; checking and certification of design packages; and management of site staff.

John also has proven skills in quality management, strategic planning, business development, client relations, financial management, team building and technological innovation.
