The annual Lord Mayor’s Perpetual Trophy, jointly donated by the Lord Mayor’s Office and Fehily Timoney and Company, recognises academic excellence at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) at University College Cork.

This year the Lord Mayor’s Perpetual Trophy 2022 for Environmental Science is awarded to Erin Driscoll. Erin received her award for the best Fourth Year Environmental Science Student, for her project “Spatiotemporal Risk Assessment of Nitrate in Irish Groundwater“.

This year’s student prize giving ceremony took place at the Cooperage Building, Distillery Fields Campus at UCC on Wednesday, 26 October and was presented by Head of School, Professor Astrid Wingler.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Dan Boyle, congratulated Erin for her excellent work.

Erin was presented with the prize by Sinéad Timoney, Chief Operating Officer. Sinéad congratulated Erin for her academic and research excellence.
