Overview

plus

FT has been dedicated towards maintaining a high level of standards regarding quality, environment, and health and safety. As a result, FT has successfully been re-certified to I.S. EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Environment) S.R by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI). FT has also been successful in retaining their OHSAS 18001:2007 (Health and Safety) registration.

FT was the first engineering consultancy firm in Ireland to gain recertification to the new ISO 9001 standard when they were updated and re-published in September 2015.

The ISO 9001 standard sets out the essential requirements for a practical and effective Quality Management System (QMS) which is a system for minimising risk and maximising opportunity.

FT’s philosophy and QMS is to combine engineering and scientific skills in a unified approach to achieve the right environmental solution for clients, to protect people, minimise harm to the environment, contribute towards sustainable design, construction of the engineered environment and delivery of a high quality end products.

FT is committed to best practice in sustainable design and construction, through the provision of effective and practical advice and design options to clients.  This will promote development changes towards more environmentally friendly and sustainable options.  The ISO 14001 Standard has been developed to help organisations identify, manage and control those activities that have an environmental impact. Through a combination of analysis and action, FT has proven to display effective environmental management, for example by:

  • Lowering energy use
  • Using renewable resources
  • Cutting down on waste
  • Designing for the complete product lifecycle
  • Complying with regulatory and legal requirements

Implementation of these standards commenced in FT in February 2015 and has involved great commitment from all levels of staff. FT aims to continue maintaining these high standards for many years to come.
