Fehily Timoney and Company are delighted with the news that Coom Green Energy Park was granted full planning permission by An Bord Pleanála. FT were first approached by Brookfield and Coillte (now Ørsted and FuturEnergy Ireland) in late 2017 and were appointed as the lead EIAR and Planning Consultant for the project with overall responsibility for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR), Planning Application submission and full Engineering Design of the project as well as community consultation support.

FT submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanála in December 2020 as a Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) under the provisions of Section 37E of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended.

The project comprises 22 turbines, 2 no. 110kV substations, significant private wire network as well as a large Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility. This development constitutes a significant piece of energy infrastructure for Cork and the country.
