Since 2002, Fehily Timoney and Company has proudly sponsored the Lord Mayor’s Perpetual Trophy annually to recognise academic excellence at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at University College Cork.

This year’s student prize giving ceremony took place on Monday, 10 November in the Cork Enterprise Centre and was presented by Head of School, Dr. Antony Knights.

This year, the Lord Mayor’s Perpetual Trophy for Environmental Science, a prize jointly donated by the Lord Mayor’s Office and Fehily Timoney and Company was awarded to Lauren O’Connell.  Lauren’s project, “Implementation of a simple correction of PM2.5 and NO2 measurements from a low-cost sensor to access air quality in Enniscorthy” was supervised by Dr Stig Hellebust.  The award was introduced to Lauren by Dr. Jean O’Dwyer, who congratulated Laura for her excellent work. Councillor Gary O’Brien deputised for the Lord Mayor. Sinéad Timoney, Managing Director, presented the prize and praised Laura for her academic and research excellence.
