Alan Brown
Associate Director of Sustainable Infrastructure
Alan Brown is an Associate Director in the Sustainable Infrastructure team. Alan holds an honours BEng in Civil Engineering and a MSc in Civil Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and has over fifteen years’ experience. Alan specialises in structural engineering, analysis and design and previous project experience includes a diverse range of permanent and temporary works utilising reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and structural steel.,/p>

Alan has experience on a range of challenging and diverse projects in Ireland, Hong Kong, Australia, and the Philippines. Alan’s primary experience is in the design of bridges and road structures with the Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Scheme being the most recent example. Alan is experienced in leading project teams, liaising with clients and obtaining design approvals from relevant authorities. He has experience in preliminary and detailed design of steel and concrete structures to a range of international design standards including Eurocode and BS Standards.
Alan has acted as Project Manager for an extensive range of Sustainable Infrastructure projects including most recently:
- South East Greenway, County Wexford
- Grand Canal Greenway Phase 2, County Kildare
- Trim Millennium Pedestrian Bridge, County Meath
- Roosky Active Travel, County Leitrim
