Cork County Local Area Plans

Posted by on Dec 8, 2016

Cork County Council has prepared the Draft Local Area Plans for each of the 8 new Municipal District Planning Areas in County Cork. The Municipal Plans will replace the current Electoral Area Local Area Plans and will likely replace the existing Town Development Plans adopted by the former Town Councils of Cobh, Clonakilty, Fermoy, Kinsale, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Skibbereen and Youghal.

jigsawThese Plans set out the draft land use zoning and policy objectives for each area and are expected to be adopted in August 2017. The Draft Plans are available for Public review at http://corklocalareaplans.com/, and the Council are inviting submissions on the Draft Plans and any other matters which the public consider relevant to the future planning strategy for their area. The Public Consultation process runs from the 16th of November until the 16th of January.

FT has extensive experience in making Development Plan and Local Area Plan submissions. Acting as stakeholder advocates, FT can provide an integrated approach to Local Area Plan representation.

Combining planning, ecology, hydrology and GIS expertise, FT can review how the plan impacts or may impact on key assets and develop a case to protect and or enhance your property asset.
