Implementation of the TII Publications System

The TII Publications system becomes effective from 1 June 2016: after this date the previous NRA Standards website should not be used. TII Publications (Standards) is now the collective reference for National Road Standards in Ireland. The system is available at:

http://www.tiipublications.ie/

The structure of TII Publications is described in two documents, the “Introduction to the TII Publications System” (GE-INT-01029) and “Implementation and Use of TII Publications (Standards) Documentation” (GE-INT-01030).

All TII Publications documents are freely available to download from the new website.

FT have been engaged as the contractor’s designer for the The Llynfi Afan Renewable Energy Park. Llynfi Afan is a consented wind farm project located in south Wales, consisting of 12 turbines the project will have a capacity of 24MW and is expected to generate enough electricity each year to power over 13,500 homes.

The challenging topography of the site as well as local planning constraints required Fehily Timoney apply innovative design solutions, including the use of gabion basket earth retaining structures, to best optimise the wind farm layout and help ensure safe and cost effective construction of the project. FT are also providing structural design guidance on the wind turbine bases, advising of alternative reinforcement layouts to allow for easier and quicker base construction.

With construction commencing in May 2016 and an expected completion in December 2016 Fehily Timoney will continue to work closely with our client to provide design and geotechnical engineering support as well as construction supervision throughout the project lifecycle.
