Senior Environmental Scientist Renewables
Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
FT is looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Scientist/Project Manager whom will work as an integral member of the Energy and Planning team in the Dublin, Cork or Carlow office, aiding the expansion of the Energy and Planning business and working closely with fellow professionals. This position offers exposure to a broad range of areas within the Energy and Planning sector including, but not limited to, planning and EIAR for renewable energy projects.
FT's Responsibilities
- Work within a project team reporting to the Project Director, as well as leading individual projects as Project Manager
- Project management and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, planning application documentation and other environmental reports
- Provide expert environmental technical assistance to the business
- Actively participate in the delivery of business development initiatives
- Manage the implementation of regulatory approvals
Skills / Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a relevant environmental discipline
- A minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience in an environmental position
- Project management experience
- Chartered status in relevant discipline
- Experience of public and stakeholder consultation
- Familiarity with planning, environmental and waste management legislation
- Proven track record in project management and contribution to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, planning and licence/permit applications for a wide range of projects
- Exerience with planning and environmental legislation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be flexible and a good team player
- Excellent report writing and technical reviewing skills
- Experience of engaging with external stakeholder, clients, sub-contractors
- A full driver licence
