Project Ecologists-Fixed Term Contracts

Fehily Timoney & Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.

FT is looking to recruit a number of Project Ecologists who will work as integral members of the environmental team working on a project specific contract for 18 months. This is a desk-based role and will suit candidates with a minimum of three years of experience. Roles are available in our Dublin, Cork and Carlow offices, and from home base for suitable candidates.

FT's Responsibilities

  • Undertaking background research, desk studies and impact assessment reporting, to best-practice guidelines and methodologies
  • Preparing and compiling ecological assessments
  • Liaising with client representatives and project managers to progress projects effectively
  • Engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders in ecological projects
  • Delivering high quality outputs within set deadlines
  • Reporting (prepare and/or compile information for Appropriate Assessments)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Level 8 degree in ecology, environmental science or a related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of a broad range of environmental issues, fundamental to the preparation of high-quality, ecological report
  • Preparing Appropriate Assessments reports
  • Working as part of a high functioning team
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail while also being able to manage their own workload
  • Ability to manage several priorities at once will be required as will a high level of commitment to success
