Graduate GIS Analyst
Fehily Timoney & Company (FT) has c. 100 members of staff including engineers, scientists, planners and technical support staff across offices in Cork, Dublin and Carlow. FT deliver projects in Ireland and internationally, in core competency areas of Planning, Waste Management, Environment and Energy, Geotechnics and Civils Infrastructure. FT’s breadth of experience and expertise enables the delivery of a broad range of services to both the private and public sector clients.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate GIS Analyst to join our team.
FT's Responsibilities
- Contribute to GIS outputs, using GIS software or similar and information provided by the Project Team.
- Contribute to the preparation and writing of technical reports and other documentation as required.
- Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals as required, maintaining the reputation of FT at all times.
- Ensure project compliance with all relevant standards i.e. ISO, standard approaches etc.
- Ensure assigned project tasks are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client and as outlined by the Project Owner.
- Ensure compliance with FT Company policies and procedures and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Complete all assigned tasks with detailed direction and guidance within deadlines.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all team members.
- Obtain information required to do the job by asking questions of other team members, Project Owners or Line Manager.
- Communicate any issues impacting work completion to Line Manager. Take initiative to identify obstacles to progress.
Skills / Qualifications
- Hold a suitable certificate or relevant experience.
- Full driving license preferable.
- 0 – 2 years of post graduate work experience.
- Good working knowledge of GIS and data management for Infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written), analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative.
- Ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quickly.
- Prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings.
Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions.
