GIS Analyst
Fehily Timoney & Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. FT provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
FT is looking to recruit a GIS Analyst who will work as an integral member of the team, aiding the expansion of the business and working closely with fellow professionals. The position will suit candidates with up to 5 years experience but candidates at all levels will be considered. Ideally based in our Cork office, although our other offices in Dublin and Carlow will be considered. The successful candidate will join an established company and will have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of professional skills and experiences with support from mentors across several disciplines. FT has a broad spectrum of ongoing projects and can offer the successful candidate a clear path for career development.
FT's Responsibilities
- Enhance GIS map production
- Prepare and utilise tools for GIS data conversion/editing/creation
- Provide GPS field work support
- Undertake spatial database management and reporting
- Spatial analysis/reporting tasks
- Development of environmental management and assessment tools
- Input to commercial proposals and tenders
Skills / Qualifications
- Specialised qualification or equivalent in GIS/Geo-Analytics
- Experience in desktop and internet mapping and an ability to provide GIS-based solutions
- Experience in implementation of GIS and data management concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to develop, operate and maintain the company’s GIS system
- Experience in a range of GIS project applications
- Detailed knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software and associated applications
- Familiarity with MapInfo, CAD and/or BIM software is an advantage
- Knowledge of spatial database concepts and implementation
- High energy professional with excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Efficient work methods, working both as part of a team and on own initiative
- Ability to manage several priorities at once will be required as will a high level of commitment to success
