Accounts Assistant

Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centers of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables.

FT currently has a vacancy for an Accounts Assistant reporting to the Financial Controller in our Cork Office.

FT's Responsibilities

  • Bank, credit card and petty cash reconciliations and posting
  • Assist with monthly management accounts preparation along with month end and quarterly reporting
  • Accounts payable (matching purchase invoices with purchase orders prior to processing and making payments, allocating payments and reconciling supplier statements on a regular basis)
  • Manage staff expenses claims
  • Assisting with sales invoicing
  • Liaise with project managers to ensure accurate monitoring and control of budgets for the financial management of projects
  • Month end journal preparation and posting
  • Ad hoc duties to be performed as and when required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Qualified accounting technician/part-qualified Accountant desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of SAGE 200 is necessary
  • Knowledge of Project Accounting system would be an advantage but not necessary
  • The candidate should be a high-energy individual with excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Excel
  • Key attributes also necessary include efficient work methods, working both as part of a team and on own initiative and good interpersonal skills
