Ireland - Final Element of N9/N10 Kilcullen to Carlow Scheme opened to Traffic |

The N78 Athy Link Road, which forms part of the M9 Kilcullen to Carlow route, was opened to traffic at the end of March 2010.
This single carriageway between Athy and the existing N9 near Timolin is the final element of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Carlow scheme with the motorway element having being opened before Christmas 2009.
The overall project comprises 27.5 km of 2 lane motorway, 11.2 km of single 2 lane carriageway & realignment of 13.3 km of regional & local roads. The scheme includes a grade separated junction and 44 principal structures including 19 road bridges, 3 river bridges, 3 farm underpasses and 2 farm overbridges.
Fehily Timoney Gifford have been responsible for the complete detailed design of the project and on-site supervision of its construction.
