Visual Impact Assessment, ZVI Maps, Wireframe Views PDF Print E-mail

Zone of Visual Influence (ZVI) maps show the extent of visibility of a proposed development from the surrounding landscape. They can also be used to assess the cumulative visual impact of similar developments within an area.  Wireframe views give an outline image of the contours of the land from a selected viewpoint. This gives a picture of the proposed development without obstruction from surrounding buildings and vegetation.

Photomontages are computer aided ‘photographs’ of a proposed development, showing a picture of how a development will appear after construction. An image of the proposed development is superimposed onto the photograph.

Our dedicated team is trained in GIS, CAD, Autodesk 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator software and other specialised software, used to model the visual impact of developments. We have the in-house capacity to print at photo-quality up to 1 m wide.

Services Provided

We use ZVI maps, wireframe views and photomontages as aids when carrying out comprehensive visual impact assessments as part of environmental impact assessments. They are also used for pre-planning meetings with the local authority and for public exhibitions.
