The Building Control Act 1990 stipulates that all buildings accessible to the general public require a fire safety certificate. The certificate application consists of drawings and a report that demonstrates compliance with Building Regulations in the provision of:
- Adequate means of escape
- Appropriate internal finishes and lining materials
- Protection for structural elements and separation of high hazard areas.
- Fire resisting construction to external surfaces of the building (and/or adequate separation distance from other buildings)
- Adequate areas of access for the fire services
|
We have undertaken fire certification for many building types and uses. In addition to making the application, expertise extends to internal fire safety layout design, production of contract drawings, bills of quantities, costing and supervision of construction.
Services Provided:
- Internal and external building layout design
- Specification of internal and external construction materials and finishes to control of fire spread
- Preparation and submission of fire certificate applications (including fully prepared drawings and compliance reports)
- Construction support and supervision
- Project management
