An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a formal, site-specific, documented system that enables a client to manage environmental aspects of its operations proactively. The EMS can be certified to the international ISO 14001 standard or it can be corporately driven to meet the requirements of a client’s environmental policy and objectives. An EMS is required before the issue of an integrated pollution control licence (IPPC) or a waste licence by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The practice of installing an EMS leads to reduced costs and improvement in client efficiency.

Our environmental management philosophy emphasises the balance between environmental protection and compliance with licence or corporate conditions while seeking the most cost-effective solutions to installing an EMS. FTC’s up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation provides our clients with a large knowledge database on environmental issues.
