An energy audit is a study to determine the quantity and cost of each form of energy to a building, process, manufacturing unit or item of equipment over a given period of time. The implementation of regular energy audits can be used to identify recommendations for energy efficiency improvements. These recommendations can deliver economic and environmental benefits, including:
- Setting of energy efficiency targets
- Financial benefits in terms of reduced energy costs
- Operational benefits including improved productivity, comfort, safety, and security of energy supply
- Environmental benefits such as sustainability, conservation of resources and reduced emissions.
|
Our knowledge of energy audits is a natural progression from experience gained as one of Ireland’s leading environmental consultants. We employ scientists and engineers who are expert in an array of engineering and environmental disciplines. A number of our staff have attended energy audit training courses by Sustainable Energy Ireland. This is in recognition of the recent implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and EPA waste licence amendments requiring annual energy audits of waste management facilities.
