The construction of pipelines is an integral part of most major civil engineering projects. Pipeline construction projects include watermains, foul and surface water sewerage systems, leachate drains, gas pipelines, etc. Pipeline projects within FTC are managed by the water/wastewater business group who have the necessary hydraulic, civil and structural engineering skills required for such projects.

This allows us provide a high quality service to all of our clients, from hydraulic modelling (Epanet, Microdrainage, Infoworks), detailed design and construction. FTC also has experience with our joint venture partners, Fingleton White & Company Ltd., in gas pipeline design and construction.

Services Provided

The Engineers in the water/wastewater group can provide a one stop shop for pipeline construction projects. This includes:

• Hydraulic modelling
• Detailed design of water networks, foul and surfacewater collection systems, pumped rising mains, gas pipelines, leachate mains, outfalls, etc.
• Gas pipelines – pipeline design and route selection, HW/LW, AGI’s, pipe storage areas, etc.
• Statutory procedures—Abstraction, Discharge and Foreshore Licensing
• Advice on technical issues
• Construction technologies, including trenchless techniques, off-shore pipelaying, etc
• Preparation of contract and tender documentation
• Contract administration
• Construction supervision
