FTC’s focus on energy projects and renewable energy in particular, has been a cornerstone in the development of the company since the late 1990’s.

Our in-house energy group provides a comprehensive consultancy service for the client, from preliminary assessment of a proposal and conceptual design, through statutory process and EIA, to design, construction supervision and project management.

FTC has provided professional services in relation to approximately 60 on-shore wind energy projects throughout Ireland, and one of the largest off-shore developments in the world at Arklow Bank. We also have considerable in-house experience on small scale hydropower schemes in Ireland in recent years. These schemes typically harness energy from river flows, impoundments, and similar and range in size from 100 kW to 1 MW.

Our experience in renewable energy ensures that we can provide expert advice on all issues relating to statutory consents, environmental impact assessment, civil and structural design, grid connection, power purchase agreements, carbon auditing and due diligence.

In addition to renewable energy services, our energy group also provides comprehensive services in relation to the development of gas pipeline projects. 

We also have over ten years experience in the area of landfill gas (LFG) infrastructure development and site management. Through multiple LFG projects, we continue to stay on the cutting edge of new LFG collection and utilisation technologies.
